What We Believe

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, a reliable source of truth, help, faith, and guidance (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

We believe that no one has been given a temptation that is beyond normal (1 Corinthians 10:13). All people are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:16) and we are commanded to love our neighbor as Christ loved us (John 13:34-35).

We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ has been tempted in every way, just as we were (Hebrews 4:14-16) so everyone, straight, same sex attracted, minor attracted, has the same freedom to approach the throne of God with confidence.

We believe that all human have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are freely justified by the free gift of God’s grace (Romans 3:23-24) earned by Jesus Christ’s innocent suffering and death, and this not by any of our works so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).

We believe that God’s Word can create faith (Romans 10:17), guard us from sin (Psalm 119:11), and lead the believer towards holiness (John 17:17).

We believe that the Bible clearly teaches that acting on ssa/ma/tx desires is sinful (Romans 1:24-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11). We also believe that every time ssa/ma/tx sins are discussed, they are dealt with equally along with every other kind of sin at the foot of the cross.

We reject the teaching that ssa/ma/tx feelings are a punishment of God or a sign that an individual has been abandoned by God, since God states that no temptations have fallen on us except those common to man (1 Corinthians 10:13) and also that he does not desire that anyone should perish, but wants everyone to come to believe in Jesus Christ for their forgiveness and eternal life (2 Peter 3:9).

We believe that God desires that those whom he has helped in their own hardships should help others in return, and this applies equally for those God has delivered from the ssa/ma/tx lifestyle (2 Corinthians 1:3-5, Matthew 7:1-5).

We believe that the Keys to Freedom, a series of forty Bible studies and meditations on the truths of God’s Word, are a valuable tool to allow those who desire truth and freedom in Christ to draw closer to God’s will for their lives. God can and does deliver people entirely from ssa/ma/tx desires, but the point of pursuing Jesus Christ is to draw near to God, who stands ever ready to draw near to us. The opposite of homosexuality is not heterosexuality, but the purity to which we are all called by God (1 John 3:1-3).
